Christian Mindfulness part II
Putting Mindfulness into Practice
Father Michael Heap M.Afr.
Wednesday, 24 May 2017
10.00 am – 3.00 pm
Mindfulness is a popular ‘buzz’ word in our society. It’s usually associated with techniques for reducing stress and anxiety, changing patterns of thinking and behaviour, and improving mental health and well-being.
Indeed, it is very useful for all of these.
However, the secular world too often – and wrongly – associates mindfulness with Buddhism. Mindfulness – attentiveness and fostering gratitude – is deeply rooted in our Christian tradition and intimately connected with prayer and meditation.
Come and experience putting mindfulness into practice: to become more aware of God’s presence with and within you.
Mindfulness is not a technique so much as a way of being. Come and feed your spirit.
